You will experience some of the greatest dirt biking in the Mojave Desert with endless single track and 2-track trails. We will make it as challenging or relaxing as you want it. You will thoroughly enjoy our fuel injected KTMs which are taken care of meticulously. We will ride super fun trails through the massive Mojave Desert and see some of the best views the desert has to offer.
1st Night: You can fly in to LAX where there is a convenient shuttle service that you will need to book ahead of your arrival date (Antelope Valley Airport Express). LAX is approximately 1.5-2 hours from Palmdale. You can also fly into Burbank or Ontario which are about 1 hour from Palmdale. However, there is no shuttle service and you can use a ride share service such as Uber or Lyft or you can rent a car which you can drop off in the Palmdale/Lancaster area. You will need to arrive that evening at the Best Western in Palmdale (600 W Palmdale Blvd, Palmdale, CA 93551) where a room has been reserved for you under your name.
Day 1: We will begin our day at approximately 6:00am where we will pick you up from the hotel and transport you to our property. If you have a rental car that you are keeping, it can be parked safely there. This is also where you will get outfitted for any gear you need and be able to see the bike you will be riding. We will leave the property at approximately 7:00am and get breakfast along the way as we are headed to a local ride area where we will begin our cross-country adventure. We will have snacks, energy chews, water, and other items to pack into your hydration pack. You will be riding for approximately 3 hours before the chase vehicle meets us for lunch in the desert. There we will do the 3 Rs (refuel, restock and relax) and make any necessary bike adjustments. After lunch, we will ride for another 2-3 hours (making the day approximately 100-120 miles) where we will arrive in Randsburg or the Trona Cabins for the night. You will have a hot shower, enjoy some alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks, eat a delicious dinner and sit by the fire to tell stories of the day.
Day 2: You will wake up to a hot pot coffee and the smell of the campfire. We will have breakfast around by 7:30am with riding to start between 8:00-9:00am. We will be on the bikes for a minimum of 4 hours (approximately 110 miles) before we see the fully stocked chase vehicle again. We will begin the day with a slightly rocky 2 track trail that takes us up and over the slate range through the Panamint Valley. Then we begin a climb up through Goler Wash and Mengel Pass into Death Valley. We then make our way through Striped Butte Valley and down to the south end of Bad Water. Here we pick up the longest stretch of pavement for 23 miles where you can relax a bit before we head out on more 2-track trails that will take us up and over Deadman’s Pass to the chase vehicle. After lunch, we will enjoy some single-track trails on our way to the eclectic little desert town of Tecopa. There we can get a hot shower, rest the body in mineral pools, enjoy a great meal and typically hear a local band playing outside the motel.
Day 3: You will wake up to more hot coffee (our own brew station since Starbucks has not made it to Tecopa yet) with a continental breakfast. Fortunately, this day does not have to start as early as Day 2 did. We will be back on the bikes around 8:30am with the destination being Las Vegas. Here we have several routes that we can take that vary greatly in mileage (120-160 miles) and difficulty. Most of our trips take us to the outskirts of the Dumont Dunes and then heading up Kensington Wash to Sandy Valley. There we will have a very tasty lunch (no chase truck meet up) and then head up and over the Potosi Mountains, through the Rocky Gap and into Red Rock National Park. We will then take a small amount of pavement heading into the heart of Las Vegas. We will end the day around 3-4pm at the Orleans Hotel for some well-deserved bench racing. As part of the package costs, we provide a room at this hotel or you can choose to find your own hotel or fly out that night. Feel free to talk to us about the options for Sunday.
Come join us for this epic adventure that will make memories of a lifetime!
Each of our adventures are based around a novice to intermediate rider ability (scale: beginner, novice, intermediate, expert). We can arrange SOME rides for beginners, but we need to discuss the specific rider ability to ensure we create a safe and fun experience.
Don't let the daily mileage worry you, we can also arrange rides with less daily or overall mileage as needed for your group. We are very flexible.
Safety is extremely important to Coyote Trail Adventures. Our guides have GPS navigation and satellite phones along with being trained in First-Aid response.
We are 100% committed to ensuring that all you have to focus on is enjoying your ride on the bike! We take care of all the details to make your trip as epic as it can be! We even typically have the items that people might forget to bring. We have a tremendous amount of experience with helping riders with fatigue and first-aid issues such as blisters.
We have personally been on many moto adventures with other tour companies and we find that an ideal group size is between 4-8 riders which helps to keep the group riding at a pleasurable pace. Though, we can accomodate larger groups if needed.
For all our rides, we can also arrange pre or post-ride lodging in Palmdale for $140 double occupancy (cost for 2 people).
We have the CA required liability insurance on all of our bikes which covers our renters and we are permitted by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
Feel free to call us and we can explain various options to get exactly what you are looking for.
For those who fly into LAX, there is a shuttle service that you can call to book: http://antelopeexpress.com/
